Youth: Time between children and adulthood.
They are teenagers and often said as future leaders. They need to be educated, guided and protected so that they also can give da’wah to others. They need to be educated, guided and protected so that they also can give da’wah to others. The work of da’wah among youth can be done in two ways. They are through educational institutions and extra curriculum activities. Many organizations also can play their roles to give da’wah to the youth. Children and youth tend to follow what adults do. Words that are used in lectures, sermons, books, tapes and dialogs can help them to understand the truth of Islam. Not to mention, the actions are observed through the adults’ behaviours and manners. Therefore, adults are the role model for what Islam is all about.
Furtehermore, it is not easy to give da’wah to the youth. This is because they want to choose their own ways of living. As a result, they may feel they no longer need their parent's advice; perhaps feeling their parents are old-fashioned and not up-to-date.
One of the most difficult missions for any parents is to get their children to really listen and understand their advice. It is not an easy mission, as Allah (SWT) tells us: “And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is a Mighty Reward.” (Qur'an 8: 28)
